Can Foreign Travellers Drive in China?

Can foreigners rent a campervan in China?
Yes. Eligible international travellers can rent a campervan. The driver needs valid Chinese driving authorisation that matches the specific vehicle, which we check before booking.
Can I use my international driving permit?
An International Driving Permit cannot normally be used directly in mainland China. Short-term visitors generally need a Chinese temporary driving permit with their valid foreign licence and any required translation.
How long does the temporary driving permit process take?
Timing depends on the city, appointment availability and document approval. Some applications can be completed after an on-site review, but plan extra time and confirm the current process before arrival.
Can I return the campervan in another city?
One-way rental is available for selected locations and routes. Availability and any relocation fee are confirmed for your vehicle, dates and return city.
What is included in the rental price?
Your written quote confirms the vehicle, insurance, mileage, equipment, pickup orientation and roadside support. Fuel, tolls, campsites, deposits and one-way fees are confirmed separately.
